Build a character once. Give them a story. Then take them into a real game.
That has been the dream since the first day of DNDAI: your hero is not trapped on a sheet. They grow, they keep their history, and they can walk into different experiences as the same person. Patch 2.3 is the first time that character steps into a standalone action game — Zombies, a free Unity wave-survival mode you can play solo or with up to three friends.
DNDAI x Zombies
Your hero. A keep. Endless waves.
Zombies loads the 3D body you already forged and drops it into a ruined keep. You start with 500 points, a pistol, and a knife. Hits pay 10. A body kill pays 60, a headshot 100, a knife 130. Spend those points to open the map, buy guns, and stay alive as the horde gets thicker and harder.

The loop is the classic wave-survival fantasy — rebuilt around a DNDAI character instead of a preset operator.
- Wall-buys — chalk on the stone marks a gun. Press E and the price is on your HUD. You carry two; buy a third and you drop one.
- Mystery Box — 950 points to gamble for a special weapon. Fire Sale drops the price; hit every location while it lasts.
- Doors & Power — the first door is 750. Turn Power on in the Barracks; the chapel stays shut until then. Hold E at a window to rebuild the boards.
- Rune Press — 5000 the first time, then double. Pack the gun you mean to keep. Each press hits harder.
- Perk lockers — after Power, buy keep brands that stack on your sheet bonuses: Last Rites (500, one self-revive), Ironhide (2500, +250 HP), Twin Fang (2000, faster fire), Windstride (2000, faster move), Snap Chamber (3000, twice-as-fast reloads).
- Drops — Max Ammo, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Nukes, Fire Sale, and Carpenter fall out of the horde.
- Co-op — host a keep, invite up to 3 friends, and start together. Late joiners can still walk into a running match.
There are secrets and Easter eggs in the keep. Train in the courtyard. And this is only the first map.
Your sheet is your build
Ability scores change how you survive
This is the part that makes Zombies a DNDAI game, not a costume. The six scores on your character sheet become keep passives the moment you load in. A fighter with 18 Strength hits harder with the knife. A rogue with high Dexterity reloads and moves faster. A high-Charisma bard or paladin farms more points off every kill.

Scores of 11 and under play at the keep default. From 12 upward, each score steps through four bands — 12 notice, 14 clear, 16 strong, 18 peak. Perks still win the big jumps, then stack on top.
- Constitution — extra hit points. +15 / +30 / +50 / +75 HP. The tank who already lives through campaigns lives longer in the keep.
- Strength — melee damage. +8% / +15% / +25% / +35%. Knife and blade clears get cheaper as the waves scale.
- Dexterity — two bonuses at once. Move speed +1% / +2% / +4% / +5%, and reload +5% / +10% / +15% / +20%. The slippery character stays slippery.
- Intelligence — headshot damage. +8% / +15% / +25% / +35%. Precision pays more if the sheet says you think that way.
- Wisdom — ammo from every pickup and wall-buy. +15% / +30% / +50% / +75%. High Wisdom means fewer trips back to the chalk.
- Charisma — points from combat. +8% / +12% / +20% / +30%. High Charisma opens doors and boxes sooner because the horde pays them better.
When you pick a character for Zombies, those passives are listed on the card — so you can see whether you are bringing a runner, a bruiser, or a point machine before the first wave.
A character that goes beyond one game
The keep is a proof, not the ceiling
The bigger idea is not another game mode. It is that the character you already built on dndai.app — the levels, the spells, the items, the choices — should not reset when you leave a campaign. Their past can become part of their future. Different games can react to who they have become.
Zombies is the first door. Freedom is the point. We do not want to limit how you express a character or how you choose to play them.

What should we build next?
We want to hear from you
If your DNDAI character can enter a keep, they can enter other kinds of games too. A few doors we keep talking about:
- A Final Fantasy-style 1v1, where two of your heroes fight each other
- A personal garden tied to your 3D Home, where you grow and harvest
- A dungeon crawl where the gear and class you already have still matter
- A smaller game that uses one ability — stealth, talk, craft — in a new way
Tell us what you want your character to walk into next. Join our Discord to have a say and talk through the course of DNDAI with us. This is something we want to build with the community.
How to play
- Click Zombies in the navbar — same row as 3D Home
- Pick solo, host a keep, or join with a friend's code
- Choose the DNDAI character you want in the horde — highest level is listed first, and their keep passives are on the card
- If you are hosting, wait for friends in the lobby, then start. Everyone loads as their own hero.
Welcome to Patch 2.3 — build your character once. Give them a story. Then take them anywhere.
